Personally I run in DOS for the extra speed and memory (try it you'll like it) so I don't suppose it would do anything for me anyway but you could buy a second SB16 for the cost of a night out on the town. Don't waste your time with Direct Sound (did these members of the press actually buy SS for their own setup or were they just indulging their egos?). I think in most serious setups users are going to prefer the most powerful and stable sampler possible and I don't see direct sound having anything to do with that (the press' pissing contest not withstanding).
