Second Generation Hi-Fi JET Delivers Outstanding Quality with Improved Productivity

The latest Hi-Fi JET features improved printing speeds while maintaining the unmatched quality so prized by fine artists, photographers, color proofers and print-for-pay shops. With three new printing modes, the latest Hi-Fi JET boosts printing speeds up to 40% over the previous models. In Super High Speed (HS), the Hi-Fi JET prints 26 min/sqm (25sqft/hr) at 720dpi resolution. The Hi-Fi JET is the only 1440 dpi printer to utilize two interchangeable six-color ink sets: CMYK plus orange and green for a greatly expanded color gamut, and CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta for smoother skin tones, pastels, gradations and richer shadows.

Roland DGA Corporation, an established leader in the manufacture of digital input and output devices for graphics professionals manufactuers the Hi–Fi JET, a proof-quality printer – the first to offer 1440 dpi resolution in a wide-format device. The Hi-Fi JET’s revolutionary printing system introduce a new standard for professional digital color printing through a licensing agreement with Pantone, Inc. As a result, the Hi–Fi JET is calibrated to ensure accurate and consistent color reproduction of PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors, when printing in Orange and Green. This breakthrough product will be able to match all colors used in today’s existing analog proofing systems with greater accuracy.

Two Models Available 

The Hi–Fi JET comes in two sizes to meet your exact printing needs. The FJ-52 can handle media widths up to 53” (1350 mm) and print up to 52” (1320 mm) wide. The FJ-42 can handle media widths up to 44” (1125 mm) and print up to 42” (1066 mm) wide.

Additional Features

It is crucial that printers used daily in business be easy to maintain and the Hi–Fi JET is designed to do just that. Large (220ml) capacity, sealed ink cartridges can be changed in one step - with no spills and no mess. The Hi–Fi JET features a media feeding mechanism designed to keep media perfectly aligned for printing. This translates into perfect registration of all six colors on posters as well as long, continuous printing.

The Hi–Fi JET includes an automatic sheet cutter which will cut and separate the print job when it is complete.  An optional take-up roller is available for rolling extra long continuous-feed prints. And finally, the Piezo print heads have a proven reputation for reliability. Equipped with automatic self-cleaning functions, the print heads produce perfect print quality every time.

Sheets of media are easily loaded and secured with a single lever.

PANTONE® Calibrated

Roland's Hi-Fi JET is a PANTONE® Calibrated printer. This means Pantone, Inc. has developed color data that will best represent PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® Colors on the Hi-Fi JET. Remember, each printer model has its own color reproduction capabilities and characteristics. Pantone color scientists create specially tuned color data which optimizes the reproduction of PANTONE Colors. This takes into consideration all the color variables to determine the optimal representation on that printer. Pantone takes into consideration the ink set, paper stock, screening, driver and other issues that affect color. The Roland Hi-Fi JET and the Roland CAMMJET are the only six-color inkjet printing devices that are PANTONE Calibrated for PANTONE® Hexachrome®.

Speed 

The Hi–Fi JET is targeted for high quality output where color fidelity is paramount. However, the device has several different print modes offering users a wide range of speeds and print quality modes.
